Mazon

Mazon, (Australia) inspired by its American namesake, provides a funding vehicle for those within the Jewish community wanting to help relieve the distress caused by hunger.  Since its foundation in Chatswood in 1989, the NSTE, its rabbis, and members of the congregation have conducted an annual hunger drive each year at the time of the High Holy Days and on Pesach, participated in a Mazon Pesach appeal in response to the Haggadah’s urgent demand: “Let all who are hungry come and eat.”

Mazon, Australia also urges those celebrating a simcha to donate 3% of the cost of food to Mazon.  These contributions are passed on to local agencies like Oz Harvest, Matthew Talbot and the Jewish House among many others.

Mazon, Australia is currently chaired by former NSTE Rabbi, Gary Robuck and administered through the Union for Progressive Judaism.  All contributions to Mazon are fully tax-deductible.

You can make a donation directly to Mazon by using electronic banking transfers. This measure not only reduces administrative costs and effort, it avoids bank fees incurred when processing credit cards.  As a convenience, these details are provided below:
