On 14 February the Platinum Club will welcome  Margaret Layson, a multi  talented lady. Originally from the UK, she began her career as a geophysicist and the first women on an oil rig in the North Sea. After arriving in Australia in 1968, she began to work as a potter later as a  freelance calligrapher. Over the years Margaret has maintained an interest in the history of writing , particularly the scripts and decorations in manuscripts.
Margaret has worked on many commissions for government and councils. In 2015  for the 800th anniversary of the sealing of Magna Carta in 1215,  Margaret was commissioned by Department of The Senate and the Rule of Law Institute of Australia  to reproduce, on vellum, the medieval Latin script of the Magna Carta. An amazing piece of work. This now hangs in the High Court of Australia.
