Meeting point: 10:30am at Wharf 5, Circular Quay.
Route: We will be catching the ferry to Birchgrove and then walking to Balmain. You will learn about the changes in urban landuse from the time of the early settlers in the 1840s to the present gentrification of Balmain. Some of the footpaths are uneven, and some areas have steep steps. Approximate length of the walk is 4kms. We will stop for coffee and refreshments en route.
Transport: It's best to come by train, bus or ferry to the meeting point at Circular Quay.
Bring: Opal card, water bottle, hat, wear comfortable walking shoes, and wet weather gear in case of late showers. Remember to apply sunscreen.

This walk is designed for fit Seniors, who can manage both track and sealed pathways, at a reasonable pace, with no walking aids. If you are likely to be slow or need help, it is recommended you come with a friend who can accompany you.
