Boomers Walking Group - Goat Island Heritage Tour

The Boomers & Beyond Walking Group meets each month. The walks are relatively easy and typically five to six kilometres long. They are planned so that the group finishes at a suitable location for refreshments!

Boomers’ Walking Group - Goat Island Heritage Tour

Date: Thursday 21 February.  

Time: 10:30am to 1pm (approx)

Meeting point: 10:30am (sharp) at Circular Quay, Wharf 6, next to Captain Cook cruise terminal.

Route: Depart Circular Quay by ferry, arriving at Goat Island at 11.00am. We will be taken on a guided tour, with mainly paved pathways and some stairs. The ferry will depart at 12.50pm and return to Circular Quay at approximately 1.00pm.  We will indulge in refreshments back at Circular Quay, as there are no cafes on Goat Island.

Bring: Opal Card, a water bottle (there are no cafe facilities on Goat Island), wear comfortable walking shoes, and apply sunscreen. There are toilet amenities on Goat Island.

Registration: As places are limited, registrations required by 11:59pm on Monday 18 February.

Cost: NSTE members $33, Non-members $38.


This walk is designed for fit Seniors, who can manage both track and sealed pathways, at a reasonable pace, with no walking aids. If you are likely to be slow or need help, it is recommended you come with a friend who can accompany you.
