The Boomers Monday Forum runs monthly on Mondays at 10am for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes in the Valerie Jaye Hall. The session format will include a presentation followed by discussion. There is no cost to attend. Morning tea will be provided.

Presenter: Julie Nathan

Julie Nathan majored in Islamic Studies at the University of Queensland, and completed an honours thesis on Islam in 2010. is the Research Officer for the Executive Council of Australian Jewry (ECAJ), and is also Chair of the Antisemitism and Racism Committee for the International Council of Jewish Women. 

Topic: A basic lesson on Islam

Islam is one of the world's great monotheistic religions. It has many similarities to Judaism ,and also major differences. Aspects of Islam are often part of the contemporary political discourse. Some of this is factual, some is false or misrepresented. 

Cost: Free of charge
